Our Gen 2 1.5 DIN touchscreen radio kit is the ultimate radio upgrade for 1997 - 2004 Chevy Corvette C5. Designed specifically for this platform, the complete kit allows you to install a modern touchscreen head unit while retaining the factory dash bezel, with no cutting or permanent modification required.

Unlike aftermarket dash kits that require trimming, painting, or poor fitment, our bracket clips directly into the factory dash structure, keeping your interior clean, original, and properly aligned.

Installation Notes

  • Factory-amplified systems require proper amp signal connection for audio output

  • Corvettes with with the Bose system or Luxury package require a different adapter harness. They will not work without the adapter harness. This harness is the Axxess AXDI-VET1, which we include in your purchase when you select "Yes" to "Is your C5 equipped with the Bose sound system?" This makes the kit nearly "plug and play" with those Bose equipped Corvettes!

Does this radio kit require cutting or modifying the dash?
No. This kit is designed to clip into the factory dash mounting location and allows you to retain the original dash pad. No cutting, trimming, or permanent modification is required.

What vehicles does this radio kit fit?
This kit fits 1997 - 2004 Corvette C5 and related vehicles mentioned above. It is not compatible with Corvettes of different model years.

Does this kit support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto?

    Great Upgrade for my C5 Corvette!

    I just installed the Gen 2 1.5 DIN Radio kit, including the Axxess interface for the Bose system and a backup camera in my C5 Corvette. Installation was plug and play, retaining all factory functions and the radio with bezel fit perfectly in the factory console. I did add a USB socket where the lighter used to be and I 3D printed a bracket for the camera using a file that I found on Thingiverse. It's great having a sound system with all of the modern features like CarPlay and a backup camera. The system sounds great, looks great and is a fantastic upgrade to the car.

    C5 stereo upgrade

    Perfect upgrade for anyone wanting the stock bezel and clean look. I downloaded instructions and printed them for reference. Use solder and heat wrap for connections to prevent loose or faulty connections. I’ve received many compliments on this stereo which improved sound quality from stock speakers. Bluetooth, google maps and all my music apps are right there

    An excellent radio replacement to maintain a classic look!

    I was initially skeptical of my ability to install this unit due to my inexperience with automotive wiring. I do come from a background of cable and electrical installation, but I was mostly concerned with mapping out the wiring and making sure my splices go well. It turns out that the process was very simple, all of the splicing with surprisingly smooth (with some stripping involved), and the Bose adapter that comes with the unit was extremely helpful. I did run into a snag with figuring out the power wire splicing, but an email to support was quickly returned and extremely helpful. Wiring was easy. The hardest part for me was pushing the unit back into the dash, requiring an expertise in cable management to make sure I could get the unit flush. But once it was in, it was IN. The 3D printed bezel that is shipped with the radio is a perfect fit for the bracket, as well as making the radio flush with the stock center console. Its a great look that keeps the classic look of the Corvette, while being a massive tech upgrade to the vehicle. It looks like it always belonged, and I couldn’t be happier. The software is acceptable. There is a lot of Chinese in the themes and such, and some of the settings on the front end were confusing, but with some tweaking I was able to force it to boot into Android Auto right away to connect to my phone, which is all I really wanted the unit for anyway, so I’m happy in that regard as well. Overall, A+!

    97-'04 Chevy C5 Corvette Gen 2 1.5 DIN Radio & Adapter

    I highly recommend this unit for your C5! Fit is perfect and the sound quality with the stock Bose speakers is 2-fold over the factory head unit. I have several other popular brands in my other cars that do not link as well with the Bluetooth.

    1.5 din radio replacement for my 2000 C5 Vette

    Just got this radio to replace my original ancient tech (with a cassette player no less). Was waiting a long time for a direct replacement that required no modifications or new console bezel. Bought all the parts (radio, Bose adapter and rear view camera). Opened up the dash…and realized I was out of my depth. Took to a local shop who finished the job for me. Love it so far. Happy to bring the Vette into this century!

    Awesome System

    I put this system in my 04 c5 corvette, it was so simple and sounds so much better then the old stereo, the back up camera is great so no more guessing what's back there. I have been tell everyone on a couple of corvette sights about this stereo so they don't have to cut their car to put a 2 din radio in. This is a perfect stereo for anyone with a corvette!

    Excellent fit and value

    Great headunit for the C5. Fitment was perfect and installation was easy due to the compact nature of this stereo. All the advertised features are present and more. If doing a full speaker install with new wires, you will not need the Bose adapter.

    1.5 din c5 radio

    I love the product and it's fits very nicely with no medication. The interface feels nice when you touch it and it's very responsive and not very laggy. Super easy install just follow the instructions and wiring diagrams. Great product and highly recommend.
