'97-'04 Chevy C5 Corvette Gen 2 1.5 DIN Radio & Adapter

I purchased this product because I was tired of dealing with the stock 12 disc CD changer that came on my Corvette. I also wanted to have a system that fit my vehicle with no modifications and that offered modern features. I am definitely not a seasoned automotive stereo installer! But by carefully following the instructions and the on-line owners manual, I was able to install this system myself with minimal problems. Tyler from Sales was a great help when I had questions....and I had many! But now I have a system that sounds great, looks great, and does what I want it to do. I'm very pleased, and I recommend this system to all C5 owners who want to add modern functionality to their 'Vette.

After debating on the 1.5 din vs the 2 din, I read the reviews here and went with the 1.5 din. I couldn’t be more satisfied. I did not have to cut any brackets. The system was literally plug and play and slid right into the existing slot with the supplied faceplate adapter . And the radio sits flush with the bezel as if it were factory. The upgrade definitely brings the C5 interior up to date. The installation was a breeze. I have the Bose factory system so I needed the Axxess adapter. All wires are color coded so connection is simple. There are 2 red power wires coming from the Axxess harness that must be connected to the head unit single red wire. There is a blue and white wire labeled amp cont on the head unit harness that must be connected to the blue wire on the Axxess harness ( or vice versa) in order for the amplifier to work. I had a question about the 2 red wires. Sent the email at 4:58 pm. Tyler responded with an answer within 20 minutes which was probably after hours. Excellent customer service here! System sounds great as well. I’m very happy with the purchase.

This product does exactly what it says it does. It literally dragged my C5 into the 21st century! The only issues I had was from all of the extra items included with this kit. There are multiple wires and modules which aren't used. That is what confused me a little bit. But a few emails to Tyler in customer service got me straightened right out! I can honestly say that Tyler really knows his stuff when it comes to wiring up this unit into a C5, He couldn't have been nicer or more understanding! Anyway, the unit is installed and functioning properly and it looks like it actually came with the car. the biggest benefit of all for me is the fact that I did not have to cut, saw or otherwise butcher my dashboard or wiring to install it. If I wanted to go back to the OEM radio it will plug right back in. I am very happy with the final result, Thank you Tyler!

I just installed the Gen 2 1.5 DIN Radio kit, including the Axxess interface for the Bose system and a backup camera in my C5 Corvette. Installation was plug and play, retaining all factory functions and the radio with bezel fit perfectly in the factory console. I did add a USB socket where the lighter used to be and I 3D printed a bracket for the camera using a file that I found on Thingiverse. It's great having a sound system with all of the modern features like CarPlay and a backup camera. The system sounds great, looks great and is a fantastic upgrade to the car.

Perfect upgrade for anyone wanting the stock bezel and clean look. I downloaded instructions and printed them for reference. Use solder and heat wrap for connections to prevent loose or faulty connections. I’ve received many compliments on this stereo which improved sound quality from stock speakers. Bluetooth, google maps and all my music apps are right there

I was initially skeptical of my ability to install this unit due to my inexperience with automotive wiring. I do come from a background of cable and electrical installation, but I was mostly concerned with mapping out the wiring and making sure my splices go well. It turns out that the process was very simple, all of the splicing with surprisingly smooth (with some stripping involved), and the Bose adapter that comes with the unit was extremely helpful. I did run into a snag with figuring out the power wire splicing, but an email to support was quickly returned and extremely helpful. Wiring was easy. The hardest part for me was pushing the unit back into the dash, requiring an expertise in cable management to make sure I could get the unit flush. But once it was in, it was IN. The 3D printed bezel that is shipped with the radio is a perfect fit for the bracket, as well as making the radio flush with the stock center console. Its a great look that keeps the classic look of the Corvette, while being a massive tech upgrade to the vehicle. It looks like it always belonged, and I couldn’t be happier. The software is acceptable. There is a lot of Chinese in the themes and such, and some of the settings on the front end were confusing, but with some tweaking I was able to force it to boot into Android Auto right away to connect to my phone, which is all I really wanted the unit for anyway, so I’m happy in that regard as well. Overall, A+!

I highly recommend this unit for your C5! Fit is perfect and the sound quality with the stock Bose speakers is 2-fold over the factory head unit. I have several other popular brands in my other cars that do not link as well with the Bluetooth.
